Tyke (Tyke passed away in October 2007 and is no longer with us - he is sorely missed)

Tyke is our "Pretty boy" for sure. Having been brought up in the UK we had to speak English to him the first few weeks he lived with us (of course we had to!) and "Pretty Boy" got stuck with him.
*insert high pitched voice here*
"He is such a pretty boy. Yes he iiiiis. He's mommy's pretty boy. Pretty, pretty, pretty boy"
Do that in the right tone of voice and he comes running like the wind!

Tyke is the most affectionate cat you can imagine. He will stay stationary on your lap a whole evening if you let him. This has in fact been tested. I was sick for two days once, and didn't move around much. Tyke was motionless along with me the whole time, nailed to my belly! This, in spite of the fact that Maine Coons aren't particularly known for their lap-cat-tendencies. They rather prefer to stay on the sofa beside you - or so I've heard.

Wanna know exactly what Tyke sounds like as he wanders around the house complaining when we don't have the time to sit down with him?
Do a mouseover here
That big ole cat is a real chatterbox but has a really puny Maine Coon sound!
It's adorable! Because it's not what you expect when you see him, big as he is.

Unfortunately Tyke never stopped spraying after being neutered and we had to relocate him to a home where he could be the only cat and be able to go outside. Now he is living happily with his new family in Porsgrun where he is the king of the street! ...and he doesn't spray anymore(!)
