The family

We start with the boyz this time and introduce the big boss in the family (or so he thinks) - André. He tries to have us believe he's totally indifferent to this whole cat-thing.

Although an ardent cat lover, in the beginning he was not exactly jumping with joy at the thought of a thoroughbred cat and all what that entails.
He has changed his mind though - he loves the shows even! (and he ain't afraid to tell his MC-buddies either)
He is constantly carrying one cat or the other around the house, throwing them up on his shoulder while blabbering baby-talk to them.
He even has his own cat now, Conan - he sooo wanted a black beauty and now he's got one.
Apart from agreeing on what's for dinner and the occasional conference about the kids, the cats are usually the topic of conversation between

hubby and me."Oooo, I think Tyke has gained some weight!, or - "Doesn't Rufus' coat seem particularly silky today, dear?" Yes - we're nutz, and we have the pictures to prove it!

Tobias is the little man of the family. He is mostly about what all little boys like to do,
and he is actually the rightful owner of Rufus.

He is usually too busy to pay much attention to the four legged creatures around the house but is extremely proud when attending cat shows with his cat. He will stroll about the cages and talk cat with old ladies about grooming and other important stuff. He plays the saxophone and WOW.

And now for the girls!
Helene is the daughter in this family and Miss is her best friend.
Early adolescence is for her as it is for most kids these days and she fills her days with homework and after-school-activities.

Helene loves animals and has full responsibility of the none-feline critters in the house. She shares her bedroom with Miss (more precisely the bed) and Penny & Guinea, our two guinea pigs. Helene is a wonderful flute-player and plays in the school band with her brother.

Her goldilocks has now been dyed raven-black which suits the emo-stage she's going through at the moment..

I started this cat fancy-thing - I was the one who wanted a Maine Coon in the first place. Thankfully these cats are so adorable that the whole family is as smitten with them as I am. The first picture I saw of a MCO was on the internet and it was from a site I'm most familiar with now - namely the Arctic Coon's website.

How lucky are we to have actually been able to get a cat from this cattery that is a benchmark for all other serious catteries out there.

BOO!!

I have now realized that we're hooked on this whole cat show-circus when we decided to go to Sweden for a show. I didn't imagine we would ever travel abroad for a show's sake (this was before I understood that you have to do that to get the Int. title.), but now we're hooked and will probably get a camper and do summer tours at the rate we're going.
